Five Talents Tech LLC collects nothing about you. We have no servers, no accounts and no analytics, and nothing you type into Imposter is ever sent to us. The free version of the app does show ads supplied by Google AdMob, and Google collects information in order to serve them. A one-time 99¢ purchase removes the ads, after which the app makes no network connections at all.
Information we collect
None. Five Talents Tech LLC does not collect, receive, store, or process any personal information from users of Imposter. We operate no servers that the app communicates with and have no way to identify who is using it. The advertising described below is collected by Google, not by us, and we never receive it.
Information stored on your device
The app saves the player names and seat order you enter, so that your group does not have to retype them between rounds. This information is written to the app's private storage on your own device and is never transmitted. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage from your device settings, removes it permanently.
If you buy the ad-free upgrade, the app also records on your device that the purchase was made, so that it does not have to ask Google Play again every time you open it.
Permissions
Imposter declares one Android permission, network access, which is what allows the free version to load ads and allows Google Play to confirm the ad-free purchase. It is granted automatically at install and is not one of the sensitive permissions Android asks you to approve. The app does not request access to your location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos, or files, and it never will.
Advertising
The free version of Imposter shows ads served by Google AdMob. To do this, the AdMob software development kit reads your device's advertising identifier, information about the device itself, your approximate location as inferred from your IP address, and how you interact with the ads it shows, and sends that to Google. Google uses it to select and serve ads, and may also use it for its own analytics and for fraud prevention and security. That information goes to Google directly and is never shared with us. What Google does with it is governed by the Google Privacy Policy, and Google describes its advertising practices at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Buying the 99¢ ad-free upgrade stops this. In the ad-free version the advertising software is never started, no advertising identifier is read, and the app makes no network connections of any kind.
We run no analytics and no crash reporting of our own. We do not track how you play, what categories you choose, or how often you open it, and the only third-party software in the app is the advertising kit described above.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, ads are only personalised with your consent. The app asks for that consent before any ad is requested, using Google's consent framework, and you can change or withdraw your answer at any time in the app under Settings, Ad privacy options. If you decline, you may see non-personalised ads or none at all. Consent is the legal basis for the advertising described above in those regions.
Children
Imposter is intended for players aged 13 and over and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and we never receive personal information from any user regardless of age.
Purchases
The ad-free upgrade is sold through Google Play. Google handles the entire transaction and we never see your payment method, billing address, or any other payment detail. All we receive is Google's confirmation that a purchase exists.
Data sharing
We share nothing, because we hold nothing. We do not sell, disclose, or transfer any information about you to anyone. The advertising data described above is collected by Google for its own purposes and does not pass through us.
Your rights
Rights to access, correct, or delete personal data held about you do not require a request to us, because we hold no such data. Information stored locally by the app is under your own control and is removed by uninstalling the app or clearing its storage.
For advertising, your device gives you the controls. Android settings let you reset your advertising identifier or delete it entirely, and let you turn off personalised ads. Buying the ad-free upgrade removes the advertising software from the picture altogether.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of the app introduces any feature that collects or transmits data, this policy will be updated before that version is published, and the effective date above will change.
